May 12, 2007 continued...
Before the race even started Joe said on his radio to his crew that there was something very wrong with the right front end of the car. Joe didn't have time to get into the pits before the green flag waved. In the very first lap in turns 3 & 4 there was a big wreck, luckily it was all behind Joe and Brian.
During that caution Joe went into the pits and his crew tightened up a loose wheel. Just as he got back on the track the race restarted with Brian running in 3rd position. Teer was in first and Sellman in second.
Joe was passing cars on the inside and outside lanes. Around lap seven Joe had just passed a car and a caution came out, giving the other car it's position back in front of Joe.
Brian was running in 4th position at this time, behind Schild.
On lap seventeen Joe was making another pass and another caution came out.
Brian at this time is talking to his crew about his motor overheating.
Joe pulls into the pits again to change a tire, but there were some difficulties and when the race went green again Joe was not back on the track.
Around lap 24 Brian was still running in 4th position. But then he ends up in a wreck in turns 3 & 4 climbing over the top of another car.
About lap 40 Joe is running tenth, but, 3 laps down due to the bad pit stop. Brian is now running 14th.
Joe is busy passing cars and again a caution comes out. Six laps later Joe is making an inside pass on a car and Joe is at the door of the other car, but, no room is given and they get together causing a caution.
With 15 laps to go the leader spins in turn 1. Joe and Brian barely make it thru the crowd of cars collecting up in turns 1 & 2 from the spin. 7 laps left in the race and Brian pulls into the pits with a right front flat tire. Joe is running in 7th position, but still a few laps down. He finished the race in 11th place. Brian finished in 14th place. Schild won the race.
Hopefully, our next race will have a better ending for the Aramendia Motorsports Team. The next TSRS race is June 9th at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, TX.
